Death and dying
To be able to truly live and understand life fully, it’s impossible not to learn and understand more about death. Life and death are intertwined, they can’t be separated and the one can’t exist without the other. Death is a part of natural life; however, society is notorious for being uncomfortable with death and dying as a topic on the whole. Many caregivers experience a level of burden during end-of-life care, some people do not have someone to speak with about their approaching death, others are faced with a potentially terminal diagnosis. This experience is multi-faceted and usually includes the grief of impending loss. We believe it imperative for people to have access to the care and support they require when entering a transitional phase of life. A death with dignity may be achieved when death is congruent with the values of the person, their culture, their spiritual beliefs, and their community. We aim to recognize and identify these values and cater to them in order to foster death as a unique living experience to be treasured as any other experience so that peace, joy, and wholeness can be achieved.
We offer sliding scale fees for these services. | Remote | In-person at home

Eating disorders and addictions
Individuals who have had prior treatment related to disordered eating, substance, or process addictions, and who are physically stable and have some sobriety, are typically a better fit, although please inquire about your unique situation and goals. Many individuals who have been able to eliminate and/or manage addictive behaviors continue to feel uncomfortable in their bodies, restless, irritable, and intense self-judgment and chronic stress. We combine 12-step recovery adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous with mind-body somatic techniques that support people in finding safe ways to connect to their bodies and difficult emotions in order to create a more accepting relationship with their whole selves and others. Addictive/disordered behaviors and how they have been of service are acknowledged, rather than fought or avoided, so that they can be more deeply explored and core issues that underlie behaviors can be fully addressed.

Spiritual counseling
Spirituality and/or religion can provide comfort, social and emotional support, moral guidelines, and purpose in life, especially during difficult phases of life. Spiritual counseling is a holistic approach to healing that includes a person’s spiritual beliefs and practices. It is a way to practice attuning ourselves to messages from our minds, bodies, and spirit, and the meaning that we make out of experiences. Spiritual well-being is a central need for many people and the potential for wholeness comes from the interconnection to a higher power. This holistic and embodied form of therapy takes into account all aspects of a human being. No religion, all religions, and atheists are welcome. Spirituality does not need to include a belief in God or an afterlife. There are numerous philosophical ways that we can look at the ups and downs of life in order to create a more meaningful and profound life.

Trauma-informed therapy
Trauma means many different things, and there is no one way that people will respond to life experiences. The way trauma impacts a person depends on how what has happened is interpreted, emotionally, intellectually, and physically. Trauma-informed therapy is not a specific intervention, but rather taking an individual’s history, triggers, and specific needs into context. Therapy is approached collaboratively with a complete picture of the client’s life in mind, including the impact of trauma. Learning how our past wounds currently impact our mental, emotional, and physical wellness is emphasized and embodied somatic approaches are utilized to support calming the nervous system and releasing stuck emotions. There is a focus on understanding the connection between stress or trauma and our present responses.

Postpartum support
The transition into parenthood is a time of intense transformation as you learn to take care of your new child while potentially recovering from labor. We focus on providing emotional support and implementing self-care practices for a smoother transition into parenthood. Support can include rites of passage ceremonies, exploring and releasing fears, mindfulness and visualization practices, affirmations and mantras, navigating depressive and/or anxiety symptoms, and processing emotions that got triggered through this process. We explore what is at the core of postpartum symptoms, rather than simply addressing symptom management. We work with mothers, fathers, and/or guardians at any point in their journey, whether their child is months old or almost grown, and whether you physically gave birth or are having a postpartum experience with any new transition into parenthood.

Anxiety and stress
Anxiety and stress can have a significant impact on the mind, body, and day-to-day behaviors. Symptoms can include racing and worried thoughts, feeling we can’t turn off the noise in our heads, fears, paranoia, muscle tension, restlessness, gut issues, immune issues, nail biting, hair pulling, scratching, picking, cutting, and uncontrollable crying. People who experience anxiety and stress are typically aware of how, and even why, anxiety manifests in themselves but not how to respond to it. Our aim is to help bring the nervous system back into balance from a bottom-up approach so that symptoms don’t manifest, and if they do, the response to them is effective and harmless.

Cannabis-Assisted Therapy
CAPT is rooted in trauma-informed, transpersonal, somatic, mindfulness-based therapies, and current best practice psychedelic therapy methods with cannabis as the psychedelic medicine. Cannabis activates both the sympathetic and the parasympathetic nervous system simultaneously, allowing emotional pain or resistance stored in the cells and connective tissues of the body to be more tolerably experienced, thus creating the conditions for potential resolution, discharge and healing. Furthermore, unlike some other psychedelics, cannabis typcially allows the participant to maintain more agency throughout the process, choosing how deep to go, at what pace, or when to titrate out of the experience. A consultation session and a minimum of two preparation sessions are required to schedule a cannabis-assisted session.
